NaNoWriMo 2009: Week 1
On my author blog at www.kishazworld.com/blog. I've been posting my thoughts and progress throughout the week. I've decided to combine them into one blog entry here for easier reading. I also hope that it will help others who may be participating in the event or are considering it in the future. I've also been tweeting [kishazworld] and updating my status in Facebook [kishazworld].
===========Part 1===============
Time does fly when you're having fun. Or is that supposed to be writing? No matter what it is, I can't believe it's November again.
This will be my second year participating in the NaNoWriMo contest. [For information about it you can visit the www.nanowrimo.org website.] Last year's NaNo spawned my first unpublished YA urban fantasy novel "Werelove: Dusk Conspiracy," which you can learn about by visiting my website here.
For this year's NaNo, I've decided to write a novel geared toward adults but still in my favorite genres of paranormal, sci-fi with a bit of mystery/thriller thrown in.
You can follow my NaNo progress at my website here.
===========Part 2===============
Well it's halfway through the week and this year's NaNoWriMo is better than last year. True, I'm doing double duty by writing my novel by hand and then having to type it up, but on the upside my thoughts are clearer.
Last year I did a YA urban fantsy novel. This year I'm going for a paranormal thriller. Pretty neat, I think. And I'm really feeling this one just like I did Werelove.
I'll write a part 3 on Sunday to wrap up this week's play by play. Hope all you NaNo writers are doing just as well.
===========Part 3=============== Wow, eight days have come and almost gone and I'm so relaxed that I'm wondering if there is something wrong with me. Last NaNo I was stressed and this one I'm not even sweating. Is that a sign that I'm more confident? Or does it mean I'm not feeling the pressure yet?
Regardless of what the reason, I'm thankful that at the moment at least, chaos has been kind enough to take a hiatus from tormenting me. I needed a break, yes I did.
Word count for Week 1: 13,225Words left to reach 50,000 goal: 36,775 I can and will hit the goal this year.
