I have another NY Times Op-Ed this Monday. . . the topic is Barbie (happy 50th!), of all things, with an Iranian twist, of course.

I did not like the Barbie when she first came out, but now I love her enough to put her in a story. Wish I could remember who observed that when children realize that their dolls are inanimate and have no souls at all, they grow disgusted with them.
