Note: This program briefly displayed a photo of the late actor Leslie Cheung from an earlier Chen Kaige movie "Farewell my Concubine" in place of this film's lead actor, Leon Lai.  This generated quite a bit of controversy and hurt feelings on the part of the late Leslie Cheung's loyal fans.  Phoenix TV subsequently apologized for the mix-up, which apparently originated from the publicity materials sent out by the China Film Group, producer of both films.   You can follow some of the controversy on the author's blog.
