Paris Moment
Poem
September 9, 2002
for Judithe Bizot
Piano notes
climb the high garden wall,
drip off ivy
after days of rain
each tapped leaf
a pressed key.
The still, bright day--
glissades and chords
two voices--
girl and man,
caress an aria.
Sudden heat on my cheek
love of this honey-sun world.
I cannot move.
Everything has just,
this moment,
arrived.
Pierced by beauty
as if swarmed
by bees.
