Biography

Andrea Askowitz is the author of My Miserable, Lonely, Lesbian Pregnancy (Cleis Press, May 2008).  She's an adjunct professor at Florida International University where she teaches narrative nonfiction; the producer of Lip Service, a quarterly true-stories reading series at Books & Books in Coral Gables; and a mom.

Since My Miserable, Lonely, Lesbian Pregancy was published, lots has changed in the Askowitz household.  Two years ago, Andrea met Victoria and learned what love and relationships can truly be. They decided to have another child; Victoria would carry the baby this time. The two, in an amazing alternative and romantic approach to building a devoted household, decided to use the same sperm donor for their new child. And just weeks ago Sebastian entered their lives - making the lesbian mother-turned-author a daddy, Tashi a blood-sibling and inspiring a second book.
