Growing up in Southern California, in an Irish-Catholic family, where I was the only boy with six sisters was bound to have an effect. I grew up needing to somehow separate and individuate from all that feminine energy. In the late 60’s, astronauts were the new macho heroes. With my math grades, I knew I would not be joining them on any of their flights to the moon, but I could do the next best thing – I could sell the moon! In 1971, after graduating from college, I did just that. It is my understanding that I am the first and only person in history to make a living in this enterprise. Like most of my fellow Baby Boomers, the parties, “free love” and vagabond lifestyle matured into cappuccinos, marriage and a 30-year mortgage. I met my wife, Sheri, 25 years ago in Honolulu, Hawaii. We fell in love at first sight and have been together ever since. I was producing television commercials, many of which aired on CNN, USA and ESPN affiliates in Hawaii, when Sheri developed a real case of “rock fever” and after 10 years of living in the islands, we moved to Berkeley, California. Since hanging up my moon suit, I have been involved with media production and promotion, and now own, in partnership, a media production company, Industrious Complex. Prior to running I.C., I spent 12 years as a television producer for Vanstar Corporation. I have co-authored two feature comedy scripts, “The BAD Guys” and “The World’s Smartest Dog.” I’m currently working on the sequel to my book I Sold The Moon. I am a polished speaker and presenter (a former stand up comic), with over 20 years experience. I intend to work full time generating publicity for I Sold The Moon.
