Cynthia Polansky Cross-Genre Author

Cynthia Polansky

Biography

Cynthia Polansky channels her inner rebel by writing across genres, much to the gratification of readers hungry for a change from the ubiquitous romances and mysteries. The award-winning author of historical novel (based on a true story) Far Above Rubies (2007 Martin & Lawrence Press) and paranormal "lit for the thinking chick" novel Remote Control (2008 Echelon Press), she is affiliated with the Maryland Writers Association, the Women's National Book Association, and the Dog Writers Association of America. Past presentations include literary festivals and fundraisers such as the St. Petersburg (FL) Times Festival of Books, Book 'Em (VA), Book Bash (MD) Baltimore Book Festival, as well as workshops and presentations for organizations including the Washington Independent Writers (now called American Independent Writers), Baldwin (NY) Hadassah Annual Author Supper, and the Maryland Writers Association Annual Conference.

Writing nonfiction as Cynthia P. Gallagher, she has penned four individual dog-breed books for TFH Publications and Kennel Club Books. Her current project is WHIFF: Human Aroma Through the Ages, an entertaining exploration of all things humanly smelly and how they're perceived around the world.

During the academic year, Cynthia is a Writing Center tutor at the U.S. Naval Academy, waging war on incorrect grammar one midshipman at a time.
