I write to explore questions, and to see what language can do. Nothing makes me as happy as a well-tempered sentence. My areas of interest are explorations of the spiritual dimension of family, love and place.

Favorite Books
Bleak House by Charles Dickens: The shifts in point of view are breathtaking, as is the journey through London, the indictment of the legal system and the mystery at the heart of the story.
The Heart of the Matter by Graham Greene: Never have I felt such dread in reading, nor understood so completely what "dreadful" actually means. An amazing story about the path to perdition.
