Kim Cooper is the author of the bestselling 33 1/3 series volume Neutral Milk Hotel's 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea', and co-editor of the anthologies Bubblegum Music is the Naked Truth and Lost in the Grooves: Scram's Capricious Guide to the Music You Missed, featuring many contributors to her zine Scram, a journal of unpopular culture. Since 2005, Kim has blogged true crime history on the time travel blog 1947project, and regularly leads offbeat bus tours around Los Angeles on Esotouric's true crime, literary, rock and roll and architecture routes. An avid preservationist, Kim spearheaded the successful campaign to save the historic Union 76 gas station ball signs and was involved with the campaign that declared Charles Bukowski's East Hollywood bungalow a Cultural-Historic landmark.
