Kristy was born in Tennessee and raised on the beaches of southwest Florida, where she lives with her husband, Richard, and [the honored memory of ] their dog.

Her first novel, Catching Genius, published in March of 2007, was an Ingram Book Club Pick and has become a book club favorite. Her second novel, Matters of Faith, published in August of 2008, was an IndieNext Notable Title, and won the bronze medal in the Florida Book Awards. Her new novel, Between Friends, will be publishing in April, 2010.
