Biography
I was born in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I grew up in Howick, a little country town which has auspiciously positioned itself as ‘The Hub of the Midlands’. I went to the same school with the same class from Year 1 to Year 12 and was hopelessly unprepared for being plucked from the comfortable bosom of family and friends when my husband and I, together with our 18 month old son, emigrated to Australia in 1997. Home is now Brisbane, Australia where I live with husband, Brenton and children, Keegan, Lara, Evan and golden retriever, Tarna. Over the years I've been published in a wide-range of magazines and newspapers in South Africa, Australia and the UK. These include South African Reader’s Digest, The Mercury, South African Country Life, Woman’s Value, London’s TNT travel magazine, Fifteen – the official SA Rugby magazine, The Sunday Tribune, Australian Good Medicine, Australian Country Style, Australian Longwalls Mining Magazine and The Courier Mail.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy garage sales, painting old furniture white, reading, curling up with a décor mag and walking my dog. I also love Italian food and plan to celebrate my 50th (many, many years from now . . .) in Tuscany!
