Peter Nathaniel Malae

Peter Nathaniel Malae's Biography Peter Nathaniel Malae is the author of the story collection, Teach the Free Man, a 2008 New York Public Library's Young Lions Award finalist, a 2008 Glasgow Prize for Emerging Writers finalist and 2007 Notable Book selection by the Story Prize. His prose and poetry have appeared in the Missouri Review, Southwest Review, Witness, ZYZZYVA and other magazines, earning distinguished recognition in the Best American Mysteries and Best American Essays series. He won the 2007 Joseph Henry Jackson Award from the San Francisco Intersection for the Arts and the 2008 Arts Council Silicon Valley Fellowship for the manuscript of his novel, What We Are, forthcoming at Grove. Peter lives in Northern California where he is a 2007-2008 Steinbeck Fellow.
