Sheppard B. Kominars

Biography

Sheppard Kominars confronts many myths about journal writing in his new book “Write For Life: Healing Body, Mind and Spirit Through Journal Writing,” (August, 2007, Cleveland Clinic Press). Developed from workshops all over the United States at cancer centers, senior residences, libraries, schools and churches, this is his third book on recovery. With a long history of dealing with crises in his own life and helping others to face their own crises on a daily basis, he has a unique perspective on the issues and problems of recovery. He has been journal writing since 1955.

Frank McCourt has written of this most recent publication: ”Why, oh why, didn’t someone walk up to me when I was twenty-five and hand me a book like this?”

He has written four novels, five plays and poetry over the course of his lifetime during which he has lived all over the U.S., in Europe and in Puerto Rico.

In 2008, he begins hosting his own radio program on journal writing on the Healthylife.org network. He has been interviewed often on national radio. Contact: Donna Gould, Phoenix Media, (732) 441-1519; fax: (732) 566-1913; donnagould@sprintmail.com
