Stacia Friedman

Biography

I am an award-winning, Philadelphia-based, freelance journalist specializing in Travel, Health, Humor & Lifestyle features for regional and national magazines. Currently, I am the "Living Well" Editor of Main Line Today, a monthly upscale lifestyle magazine.

In addition to my 20-year career in journalism, I am a writer of screenplays and novels. I was awarded First Prize for Investigative Journalism by the Keystone Press Association for my cover story on Campus Crime appearing in Philadelphia's City Paper in 2007. Previously, I received a 2006 Pennsylvania Council in the Arts Fellowship in Writing and won the Philadelphia Film Festival Screenwriting Award in 1994.

I am a member of Mystery Writers of America and am currently working on a mystery based on my experience as a travel writer.

Upcoming Works

  • I am currently working on my first mystery, based on my professional travel writing experience. The story is set in one of my favorite destinations, Southwest France, and focuses on the production of Armagnac, the mythic brandy that is credited as the world's first Viagra. Being a humorist, my mystery has more foie gras than gore, more sex than violence.
