A former science journalist, I am now a full-time fiction writer. Born in London, England, I have been living in Jerusalem, Israel, since 1994 and have now relocated to Bristol, UK. My first collection, The White Road and Other Stories, was published by Salt Publishing in September 2008 and was commended by the judges of the 2009 Orange Award for New Writers.
My short stories have been published in print and online, in publications including PANK magazine, Smokelong Quarterly, Drunk and Lonely Men, Eyeshot, Literary Fever, Riptide, Cafe Irreal, the Hiss Quarterly, Front&Centre, Vestal Review, and Transmission, and Riffing on Strings, an anthology of fiction inspired by String Theory. I have had three stories broadcast on BBC Radio 4. I am the winner of the Binnacle's 2009 Ultra Short Competition and European regional winner of the 2008 Commonwealth Broadcasting Association's short story competition.More information can be found on TaniaHershman.com
In 2007 I founded The Short Review, a site dedicated to reviewing short story collections and anthologies, interviewing short story authors and much more.
