Michelle Richmond has been named as the recipient of the 2009 Hillsdale Award for Fiction from the Fellowship of Southern Writers. The award, which is granted in odd-numbered years, will be presented at the Conference of Southern Literature in Chattanooga, TN, in April. Previous recipients include Mary Ward Brown, Percival Everett, Bobbie Ann Mason, Lewis Nordan, and Richard Bausch, among others.
