The International Civil Rights Walk of Fame

The “Footsteps” of eleven new revered civil rights luminaries were added to the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame on January 12, 2008 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, National Park Service, located at 450 Auburn Avenue (Atlanta, GA).

The 2008 inductees include Dr. Maya Angelou - poet; memoirist; actress; author of six autobiographies beginning with I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings; Pulitzer Prize nominee for Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water "Fore I Die, her volume of poetry.
