Red Room Where the Writers Are

Why would an author ever give away a book?  A whole book, that took months, maybe years, to write?  It's a big question today, as publishers and authors both struggle to find readers in an online

We're coming down from a heat wave here in Northern California, so I think I just might be able to get back to work—not my bread-and-butter work, but revising and expanding my next book.
