Red Room Where the Writers Are

The DAY.

As I am new to Red Room, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those who will stop by my member page.

Tomorrow is the biggest event of my nascent writing career. I'll be reading from my novel at the Mineshaft Tavern in Madrid, New Mexico, on Friday May 2, 7-8 pm.

After a long time alone in the bottom of the well, one of my novels is being published today.  An entirely different world has finally opened up to me.  It is subtle, but I am different.

I finished my first novel twelve years ago.  I have been trying to get published since then, collecting around two hundred rejections for my six novels.

As my debut novel prepares to launch with a bang on Nov. 3, 2008, I thought I would look back to where this overnight success began.
