Musing on a New Years Eve
That infinitely small and omnipresent point - the totality of our being – is that illusive point in time we call 'now'. Now reaches out to grasp a possibility, recalling where it has been and why. The old seeks to realize the new – it is renewal. Two ever-changing factor try to merge divided by an unfathomable chasm which reason cannot breach. ‘Now’ is always becoming ‘then’ before it can ever begin to be. It is because the experience of the present moment is only known in the past. Only with an empty mind acting spontaneously can time and place become a whole moving experience.
In everyday life we reflect from shard to shard of a shattered mirror (Our fallen mind) in a kaleidoscopic vision, which we distinguish as “the facts of life”. Some we judge good others bad. In reality there is your point of veiw and mine as well as all of theirs, then add 10001 unknown factors in plant, animal, and spirit and finally the most mysterious factor of all: DEATH! We are unconscious of much more than we are conscious of, therefore knowing is not the answer.
So we return to the root, the totality of our being, where all colors merge into white, all numbers resolve in naught, all sounds achieve silence, all complexity becomes simple. All time and place remain unadorned without the multiplications of conception. Judge not least ye be judged thereby. Good and evil fog the lens with which we try to focus on ‘truth’. Only a clear and open mind can see the whole. If we make differences then we suffer division, we cling to what we know and die ignorant.
