where the writers are

They call us what they are.

The United States, Britain, and France did not go to war with Hitler because he Socialized health care. No - we went to War because he had secret prisons, because he tortured the prisoners in those prisons and because he practiced genocide. We now have the rabid right attacking Obama’s health plan by comparing him to Hitler.

We are told to follow the money when investigating crime, so I ask who will profit by maintaining the status quo? Corporations!  Mussolini described Fascism as corporatism.

The base of the Republican Party is the Christian right. These are Christians that cherry-pick the Jesus that suits their bias. No these are not the followers of the Jesus who tells the story of the Good Samaritan, these Christian’s follow the Jesus that cursed the fig tree for not producing fruit to satisfy his hunger. These are not the Christians that follow Jesus when he said, “Let him who is with out sin cast the first stone.” No these are righteous Christians who gather stones to lob at homosexuals, Muslims, feminists and shoot abortion doctors.

Religious faith is for those who have lost faith in themselves. They must be told what to do. This is why these mentally challenged ‘faithful’ are so easily led by the nose to act against their own interest. They need strong leaders like Stalin, Hitler and George W. Bush to herd them with hate and fear. This is why a liberally minded person like Obama makes them angry: he ask them to think about future Possibilities – to step out of the ‘lock-step’ march of the fascist. They can’t think!

I don't know about you

but I was brought up with the saying "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me". Personally both sides are saying awful things, and sometimes the exact things word forf word, about each other.

I think people (again on both sides) need to stop delegitmizing the fears of the other side.

Thanks for your comment

I have been at the Red Room for a year received 1230 visits to my sight and not one comment, so you have made my day. Thank you. I strongly believe in seeing both sides of an issue however I fail to see where any one is calling the falsehoods of the right 'liar' as did Joe Wilson. Can you please elaborate about how the Obama camp has delegitimized his detractors? I get the impression he is listening to all sides, am I wrong? All the Best- Eric Wilson Hill

First I will offer my "He

First I will offer my "He who is without sin..." example (amusing in a way ,because I am not christian) Remember this summer there was the confrontation between the havard professor and the cop and Obama said " I don't know much about what happend to myfriend but I think the policeman was pretty stupid" or something around those lines. So Obama set the precedent of name calling without facts. In this example I am not debating whether or not what the cop did was stupid but rather Obama's reaction where a) admitted not knowing the facts and then b) called the policeman stupid. So I see the whole liar thing as being part of universal karma.
But using phrases like "passing this bill is the moral thing to do" means the act of not passing the bill and people who do not support the bill, by definiation, are not moral. So how does that not demonize the opposition. I could use a better example but I am not one to assume another person politics but if you give me an example of something you are against I can show you a similar example.
Anyway I am enjoying this,I am surprised I am the first one to leave a comment , you write quite well.

Time

Thanks for the compliment, that is what is what we all hold dear: writing! Not politics, nor any other compromise, I will have more time to go into these these issues in a few days in the meantime

I think you will agree:

Our thoughts are the source of all conditions, thus:

If we are full of hate and fear; hate and fear will follow.

If we are full of love and compassion, love and compassion will follow.

We choose all the time.
