Captain's Blog - Stardate November 28, 2008 - Change we can believe in?

Am I alone in my concerns? Hawks appointed to the cabinet? Economic advisors who were architects and enthusiastic proponents of the system that just failed us? Not a single injection of new blood so far? How about a real progressive in the cabinet - like Kucinich? And now talk of delaying the rollback of the high-earners tax cuts - how exactly does that help?

Are we really going to get the "change we can believe in" that we voted for - or is it going to be business as usual? I hope I'm wrong - but so far, things aren't looking quite as bright to me as they did on November 5th.

We'll see...

Back to the future?

OK, so if Obama undoes every stupid thing Bush did, and takes the country back to Clinton-era policies, how is that not change? In fact that IS the change we need! Throw the idiots out and make thinking "in" again.

Out with the old - in with the old....

That was my point - a case in point being not undoing the tax cuts for the super-rich. Another being his voting in favor of the FISA bill. Another being his appointing people cut from the same cloth as the ones who caused the financial crisis. And so on.

And I think many who voted for him wanted more than just a return to Clinton - they wanted progressive reform.

Nobody will be happier than me if Obama does the right thing...
