where the writers are

My favorite place so far.

October 6, 2009, 6:54 am

Haven't written in a couple days. Well, I have but mostly responses. Anyway, I'm only on the 2nd cup and the fingers need to get loosened up before heading off into my book world to work on "The Bird Nest." (by the way.....that has nothing to do with bird watching:)

I love traveling to different places. My mom (God rest her soul) always wanted to travel. She said that when her 5 kids were all grown, she and my dad were going to see the country. Breast Cancer almost stopped her from watching her youngest son graduate highschool in June of 1992. She made it through that Christmas and died in january of 1993. She never went outside of the New England States, except for their honeymoon, which was in Virginia. She was 50 years old.

I'm 46. I've been to every state on the east coast, Alaska, Oregon, California, Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, and now live In Colorado. Outside of the U.S. I have visited Okinawa, Japan, the Philippines, Canada, and the Bahamas. My favorite place to date? I'm there! :) I love the mountains. Not crazy about Denver itself. Just a few more cars than I'm comfortable with.

My wife says that I'd love Germany. She visited a large part of the European continent when she was in the army. (Yes, my sweetie was a soldier....that's why when she says to cook....I usually don't argue...lol).

Our plans? Well, when we are finally on our feet, employed, and the miracle of an actual published book takes place, we want to travel all over the planet. (first stop is New Zealand. Cat Connor owes me a Bailey's Cheesecake :)----um she's a red-room member....she wrote "Killerbyte." (how's that for advertising Cat? ---2 cheesecakes now! :)

The places I most want to see.....Iceland and Norway. They just look so damn beautiful! (And besides...I like Herring----um that's a fish:)

Okay, when I start making weird remarks...it's time to say...."see ya tomorrow....coffee's workin!"

Be well. Be aware, and please be safe!

It's so good to love where you are

That is a wonderful thing in itself, Raymond.

Gina and myself will be retaking our vows next year and were talking about a second honeymoon. We are both reasonably well travelled, both before and after we met, and there are so many places that we want to visit that the mind boggles at the choices. In the end, we always come back to the fact that we love living here, in Weston-super-Mare, so much, that we might even spend our honeymoon at home! LOL! It's not just Weston, it's our home and everything it represents to us.

We shall see, anyway. Perhaps a mixture of both travelling and a stay-at-home holiday might be the answer. Whatever we decide, e will be very happy so I really don't mind. :)

I have heard that New Zealand is just amazing, and with the added lure of a Cat Conner Cheesecake, can there really be any another choice for your family? LOL!

Did you mean Ireland? Not

Did you mean Ireland? Not Iceland? Iceland has no currency now, everything is a barter system. Bring cheesecakes by the truck load and maybe you could swop for ?? Surely you typoed the c and meant to put in an r? Surely.

Raymond Mallette

Raymond Mallette says:

no....seriously..iceland...

Iceland....it's nothing to do with the money and everything to do with the land....however...the cheesecake thing hmmm...I'll have to ponder that. Think we can get Cat to give us her recipe?

Bartering? hmmmm..and that's bad how? :)

Okay Okay....Norway, Iceland, AND Ireland! Did Ryoma put you up to this? lol

Be well.

New Zealand and cheesecake

We await your arrival! :-) Thank you Raymond.

If i gave you my recipe  would you still visit NZ? LOL

Raymond Mallette

Raymond Mallette says:

Nope..you have to make it.

You have to make it. Brenda informed me that there is no way in hell she will accept any recipes..(I think she fears we won't leave here :)....So ..I guess....we gotta do the traveling thing someday. :)

Meanwhile...the starving writer sits at the laptop salivating like Pavlov's dogs lol!
