About The Third Angel

April 8, 2008, 7:21 am

Although my novels aren’t autobiographical The Third Angel began with a ghostly experience in a London hotel, which you can read about at my website www.alicehoffman.com/blog.

As a writer, I use fiction to escape – I write for the same reasons I read, to enter into another world. But in The Third Angel the pieces of my life are scattered throughout – the books and people I admire filtered in before I knew it.

The Third Angel is an emotional autobiography – none of it is true, and all of it adds up to my truth. Hope you enjoy reading it. I think it was the most fun I’ve ever had writing a novel.

I agree

I don't think it's possible to remove yourself and your experiences from the work. I know my characters all have quirks that have to come from somewhere, and I don't think I'm clever enough to create them all from nowhere.
