- If your point of entry into the fabled halls of redroom.com was any other than the homepage, you missed the fact that the RANDALL THEATER POETRY SERIES which I am co-producing and directing is featured and given top billing on the Red Room Front Page in the LITERARY LANDSCAPE column under NOW APPEARING.

This special series is comprised of three programs on three consecutive Thursdays in March 2009,
View Point Vistas on March 5 at 7pm,
Passion Unveiled on March 12 at 7pm and
Taking Home Lasting Impressions on March 19 at 7pm.

Thank you Jennifer Gibbons and Red Room Omnimedia for recognizing the relevance of our series.

In summer of 2008 the Ana Elsner /Stephen Kopel team brought a proposal of showcasing poetry to the Directors of the Randall Museum and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department which owns and operates this facility.
Due to looming budget cuts affecting all city agencies, it is a great privilege to have been approved and been given not just one but three nights of performance. Along with this privilege also comes a sense of responsibility to demonstrate that events such as these are in demand, are vital to the local community and deserve continued funding.

Elsner and Kopel have been working hard on staging, lighting and all the nitty-gritty of a theater production. By lining up a stellar cast of poets and musicians and by not charging any admission fee, we hope to attract a sizable audience. But we cannot accomplish this without your support.

If you live in or visit the San Francisco Bay Area, please attend one, two or all three shows, not just for the benefit of the featured poets and musicians who are giving so generously of their time and talent without monetary compensation, but also to help us make an important point.

Now, I realize that the Red Room membership is scattered all over the country and that therefore this local event does not pertain to most. But that is not entirely true, is it? I have a hunch that YOUR local municipality is faced with the same budget cut-backs.
So to those of you outside the SF Bay Area I say, please seek out and support your own literary and community venues. It is a worthwhile cause.

My fellow Red-Roomies, do make the effort to come out in support of these events before they vanish forever. Bring your friends, too!

Thank you.
See you there,

Ana Elsner
