...a bad case of the doldrums?
This will cheer you right up,especially so if you harbor a secret nostalgia for the 50s (as I do):
Enjoy Chip n' Dale's 'Salt Peanuts' by the jazz duo and quirky (then) novelty act 'The Nutty Squirrels', founded by jazzman Don Elliott and TV composer Alexander "Sascha" Burland. Egged on by the animated music group "Alvin and the Chipmunks" created by Ross Bagdasarian in 1958, Elliott and Burland imitated the high pitched, comical, squeaky rodent voices by recording their normal singing voices at 16 RPM, then playing them back at 33-1/3 RPM -- giving that unique Chipmunk-sound to the hip scat-singing style that Elliott had perfected during his solo work in the early 1950s.
Backing Elliott and Burland's altered vocals were some of the best New York session men of the late 1950s, including Cannonball Adderley on alto sax, Bobby Jaspar on flute, and Sam Most on clarinet.
