Bed of Roses

November 21, 2008, 11:32 am

Hello,
People say it is a lovely morning
Winter is here
But so is the Sun today
I picked white roses
To share my morning prayers.
They say it is a lovely morning
That is what weather proposes
But I see my sky is grey
My breeze carries the cries of owls
And I am scared
That my prayers won't be answered today..
"Hello",
My roses whispered, "It is still night,"
"And you are not decent enough to pray.."
"Winter is here,
Three months ago winter was here,
Six months ago winter was here,
Nine months ago it snowed over your bed,
And it was a lovely morning,
People said,
And out of you,
We grew.."

I said not I am austere,
I will not chase the cold wind
They say the Sun is here,
But I am afraid I am not...
Should I chase the Sun?
Many lovely mornings passed, as I lay on my bed
It is strange,
How laughs bring no more joy or fun
It is strange,
How when I cry no tears are shed..
"Hello!", I cried day after day,
"Am I here??"
But only cries of owls were heard...

Am I here??"

Am I here??" Sure you are, since I'm reading you.Don't say you're a ghost. I love Winter and snow.I see it as a purifying season.

I'm expecting that the next dropping snowflakes will be wrapped in verses of hope of your own.Would you?

I have a short story "Bare Guda" in my blog.Give me your opinion about it.

Oh! I promise I'll try my hardest : )  But sometimes, verse is all one got to give a sigh that, else, would turn into invisible burning fire...

About the e-mail that never arrived, it only contained crude thoughts that gave way when I first read your article, which is, BTW, a very interesting point of view... I wondered if I am so young and foolish and that is actually what Love and Hatred - of course I had to read that article, too- really are, and that is what is ahead of me... Which is, you must be knowing, a very intimidating idea, to say the least... But then, the adapting, survivor-by-nature human mind tried to put the blame on something else, and I asked, is it the fault of Love, the nature of the feeling as you described it, or is it the fault of those who love?

I will read Bare Guda now..

Thank you, it is really fun to know others read what I write! I can't wait to manage to publish a book one day... That must be something. : D
