Music

Come hither, seekers, questions remain unanswered..

Feed me music... this world numbs my soul..

Rhythm, Chaos has been feeding on me..

Feed me... Synchronize with me.. I am getting lost..

A high tone to the scream that lingers at my lungs

Since I was as little as non-being..

A low tone to mourn the nights I lost sleep

To a painful fist clutching my heart..

"What oceans and seas? What storms and winds?

That killed the fire, the youthful spirit in you?"

Let's try to bring back the beats to my heart,

O dying stars... I will glow for you..

Numb my pain, feed me music

Ignite the ardor of love.. And then, only then

I will set fire in my past so I can see the future..

Let the melodies pour from my fingers

And make them see the music play in my eyes..

Give me your hand, sweet child, and look

Can you see your innocent face in me?

Can you see how beautiful

How powerful you are?

Look in my eyes, sweet child, for I am what has been

What are you? Can you say? Can you sing?

Sing to me and let's set this world right..

And free the nightingales long silenced..

I die many, so many times,

But still I am afraid of Death..

Will you give me the kiss of life,

And sing to me?

Abdelwahab Hammoudi says:

wow!

The world needs so much to free the nightingales long silenced.. They're really the kiss of life.

A very picturesque poem.

Amira Nagati says:

I'm honored, thank you...

I'm honored, thank you...

(A case where a picture is worth 1000 times a 1000 words)

Dennis Shay says:

Your verse does sing to me.

Amira,

Impassioned poetry! And there is a "Kahill Gibran" favor to it.

Amira Nagati says:

Oh,thank you! And Khalil

Oh,thank you!

And Khalil Gibran? I wish! I am so much into Al Mahjar romantic poets... And practically, we all have become strangers in our own countries...
