Bob Levin "Lurid and fascinating... loathsome (and)... compelling." UTNE Reader

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read All About It!

October 12, 2008, 8:51 am

My interview of legendary underground cartoonist S. Clay Wilson, creator of The Checkered Demon, Ruby the Dyke, and Star-Eyed Stella, and the man who convinced Robert Crumb "You can do anything in a comic," is now available from discerning magazine vendors everywhere.  Ribald anecdotes, indiscreet remarks, scurrilous rumors, and free-floating ramblings abound.

Additionally, in a special limited engagement, both Mr. Wilson and myself will be appearing Nov. 1 (All Saints Day) at Alternative Press Expo (APE), 620 - 7th St., San Francisco, from, I'd guess, noon to 4:00 pm, personally signing grossly over-priced copies of the volume in question.  I will also be peddling copies of my comic-related books ("The Pirates & the Mouse,"  "Outlaws, Rebels..., and "Most Outrageous") -- mention Red Room and get a discount -- and he can be expected to have on hand copies of his classic ("Adults Only") "Snatch," "Pork," and "Jiz"  -- Comics! The Kind Men Like! -- from the UG's Golden Age.

Look for us at a table in the raised area to the right of where you enter.

Congrats for all the good

Congrats for all the good news above.  It's nice to have something completed and to have people want to hear about it!

Bob Levin says:

Well, it is definitely

Well, it is definitely completed.  Whether anyone will want to hear about it is another matter.  It may get some discussion at the Journal's message board, and Wilson has fans who may lay out money for our signed copies.  I'll keep you posted.

Anyway, thanks for reading the blog.  (You are 1/37th of my audience so far.)
