Gratitude in the Red Room, this Thanksgiving...
I became a member here one month ago. I have no formal training in the mechanical skills in writing, just a natural love and appreciation for the written word. In my heart I was a homemaker and by trade, I was a hairstylist for much of my life.
A tragedy in my life in my twenties, brought me eventually to discover my heart's true passion. I was reading trying to find solace and comfort, a way to get through the pain. Between my passion for reading and a search for a way to survive, it seemed almost every book I read had within it a focus on spiritually. Each and every book helped me see the truths in life one needs to survive and eventually thrive. Now I know that I long to write about these experiences and truths and to offer another what those earlier authors offered me.
I started writing my story one year ago. I am nearly finished now with my book which is a story about faith and survival. Thanks to my wonderful editor, her way with words and expression, it will read beautifully while maintaining the intention behind my expression. She helps me with mechanics and flow without changing the content. My deepest desire to to share a message that could reach out to people and help others, the way I've been helped.
Here in the Red Room, I notice writers expressing gratitude to one another for their work regardless of what topics they choose to write about. The people here share the same passions, understanding the human stories, and a deep desire to share those stories and bring those words and images to life. It amazes me that so many never miss an opportunity to respond with gratitude when another recognizes their work, regardless how successful they've become! That nature and expression is a true mark of greatness.
I am filled with graitude for the authors and writers that speak to my heart and touch our lives. Their words and expressions remind me to stay on course. Their example reminds me that gratitude and servitude to one another is an important element that helps build and maintain their success. As I write and share my stories, as I dwell upon these things, my hope is that I can be as gracious and appreciative, and one day be counted among their ranks.
For those who have not yet attained notoriety or success, we sincerely appreciate the accomplished authors taking the time to offer insight and guidance. As our work evolves may we always remember those who helped us on our journey. May we remember to take time to encourage one another. This is one of the highest attributes, may we emulate their kindness and sincerety on our journey to becoming successful, accomplished authors!
With gratitude and appreciation for writers and storytellers, may your words reach out and touch people for generations to come. May your work be richly blessed and may your lives be filled with abundant blessings today and always.
Happy Thanksgiving!
