Imprint of Our Religion or Nationality
I have never left the Catholic Church, but I have searched for ways for an understanding of God from a Christian view, but not always Catholic Doctrine. Sometimes, I felt as though I was not being faithful to my church, family, or my community, so I stayed quiet and didn’t discuss these things. But most of the time, I felt as though I was not being faithful to myself. Thank God, I finally opened about my search. Even though I come full circle to seeing everything I learned has been taught in the Catholic Church and in All religions, but for whatever the longing of an understanding, I needed more, as, I couldn’t see…!
Both of my parents and grandparents were Catholics. Does this mean, (this is going to sound simple), well, because I am an Italian, that I would automatically know the language and customs? - I am not so proud to say that I do not know how to speak Italian. But I am proud of my Italian descent, even though I do not always practice the Italian customs. The fact that I am proud to be an Italian , and the fact that I am proud to be a Catholic, doesn’t separate me from you.
I do not offend anyone when I say that I am proud to be an Italian? But, if I were to say that I am proud to be a Catholic, sadly, anyone who voices their religion proudly, seems to come to indifferences. My heart whispers, this isn’t so! Being proud of your religion doesn’t appose or go against any another religion. Just the same as being proud to be Italian.
I am proud to be a descendant of Italy, and no one would care to hold it against me one way or another about how much of a true bred I am? Or, whether I can speak the language or not, or if I’m living the Italian customs faithfully, as this doesn’t take away from me being an Italian. And although I don’t understand the language, as I didn’t understand the scriptures.- If I wanted to know the Italian language, I would have to study them to interpret their meaning. Says the same to me, as my deepest longing of wanting to understand God and the scriptures. And through study, we would come to understand the word amore’ means love, regardless to "what school" we attend to learn the langage of Italian. Says the same to me through the study in religion, regardless to "what Church" we belong to.
Why would our religion or nationality make any differences at all? They're both the "imprint of love" we are born in.
We are shaped by the scriptures and we grow, perhaps we need not change our religions, we need to grow in an understanding of them.
Truly,
Catherine

Abdelwahab Hammoudi says:
Proud.
All the existing religions, are they really different in the core of their message? He who created one humanity did send just one message which was received differently by people according to their differences.
Should we be proud of our religion? Yes if that means living according to some golden rules.By the way, honesty, integrity, justice, goodness are appreciated everywhere. The opposites values are hated everywhere.
Concerning the main great religions and concerning these moral values, where is the difference?
Blessings
