Inside My Mortal Head
If I write a book a year and I live to be threescore and ten, my mortal span, I will still run out of years before I finish all the books I have in my head.

Wow! That is really inspiring. I feel like that almost every day. I have to nearly stay up all night for fear of forgetting what and how I was going to write, and sometimes it still feels as if that isn't enough.

Hello
Clive, it's nice to see you here. I believe I saw you at the 88 or 90 BEA in Orange County, but it's been such a long time. I've churned out six books in the past 2 1/2 years, three of them sold, and I still can't write fast enough to get all of my plots down. My agent wanted wanted a DNA werewolf story just recently and that got turned in. It's making the rounds, and it's nice that I've been compared to Crichton, but not so good when they say that thrillers like these are a hard push at the present. Gak.

well, I'm 64 and only have another six years, and only four books in my head. Well, two of them are already 3/4 done, so I guess I'm operating on schedule. Trouble is, I only started publishing when I stopped drinking a few years ago. Just couldn't get my shit together until then. Now that I have it together, I have some trouble lifting it.

It seems we both have Lindsay's "Voyage to Arcturus" listed as favorite books. Back in the day, I published two of his "lost" manuscripts--"The Violet Apple" and "The Witch," not as endearing as "Arcturus" but one has to pay tribute to the master.

If I may inquire in the networking mode, most NY literary agents do NOT extend themselves to sell graphic novels. I've got one in progress, adapted from my novel THE MANGA MAN.
You can see the .pdf on my website if you go to "Coming Soon," bottom of the page, click "sample GN pages," at

Do you know any agents who specialize in GNs? Appreciate any feeback. I'm not talking Marvel Comics here or Japanese round-eye manga. But something "different."
Cheers, Alex

I'm the same way. There are so many books I want to write. If I'll only have the time. By the way, you are a wonderful and entertaining artist, in all regards. Thank you for the many moments of pleasure you've provided to so many of us.

Welcome to RedRoom, big fella.
Loved your work since I read "In the Hills, The Cities" all those years ago. We have a chum in common, Mark Miller, an absolute sweetheart of a lad.
Best wishes to you.
