The passion, the obsession, the fixation?
Summed up in a piece I wrote about my first great love, first great obsession, first great fixation. What came out was a poem:
If you could see me now, this far away
What would you do, my love? What would you say?
The fearless child who took the whole world on
On your behalf - would you decide, she's gone?
Those big green eyes your touch, your kiss, once fired
Would you look down at them, and think, so tired
That jaw, those lips, legs wrapped around you tight:
Has she gone gently into that good night?
And had you lived, had I survived the fall
I'd like to think you'd know me, after all.

Hi Deb
I know this is off-topic from your obsessions, aside from it being music-related, but you sounded fantastic singing at the El Rio last night!

Ivory, you were absolutely killer, yourself - there aren't enough old-school chanteuses out there anymore, and you nailed it.
Next time, I'm shifting the key up from the original in A to either C or D. That'll give me the full octave range the song wants, rather than having it be too low...
