HOLY COW! THREE books published in THREE months
Douglas Keister has THREE books published in THREE months.
Either by fate or design I've have three books slated for publication in three consecutive months. Teardrops and Tiny Trailers, my fourth book on vintage RV's and trailers, was released by Gibbs-Smith Publisher on July 1st. Lincoln in Black and White 1910-1925 (co-authored by writer Ed Zimmer) which features incredible images from my collection of glass negatives taken between 1910-1925 by an African American photographer will be released on August 4th by Arcadia publishing. And my third book on historic cemeteries Forever Dixie: A Field Guide to Southern Cemeteries and Their Residents will be released by Gibbs-Smith Publisher September 1st. When reviewing my previous books on cemeteries Sunset magazine said "Keister has done for cemetery exploration what Audubon did for birding".
Even more interesting, I suppose, is all three books are on different subjects.
I'm currently working on a follow-up book to Forever Dixie titled Forever LA which will focus on exploring Los Anegles' fabled cemeteries. One might be tempted to subtitle it "How to Get Within Six Feet of Your Favorite Celebrity". Media requests should be directed to my agent, Julie Castiglia, 858-755-8761 jaclagency@aol.com
I'm also in the midst of promoting Teardrops and Tiny Trailers which just came out. I'll be speaking at a couple vintage trailer rallies and also hoping my publisher figures out a way to get me and one of the tiny teardrop trailers on a National Morning Television show. Any producers out there listening?
I'm been of busy lately but hope to be more frequent in my Redroom Blog posts.
