How can I put this?

Okay.

In our last episode Geoff was on the prow of the big ship screaming about running the world. We know what happened to the last guy to do that.

There were two TV Things where, only a week previous, there had been none. Well, as is common, in my life at least, one of the Things has gone away while the other is ongoing.

TV Thing #1 was that big, out of the blue offer to make up an entire TV series from scratch. There was a stack of other, REALLY tasty stuff on the table, frankly stuff that somebody on my level would never be offered unless the studio was run by my Mom. Which, of course, should have been the BIG CLUE that it could never possibly happen.

I'm not a lucky person. I don't gamble for this reason. I don't win the lottery. I don't skirt the terrorist frisk at the airport.  I'm not that guy. What I get I work for and this was looking more and more like Fun for which I was going to get something amazing.

And so, of course, I didn't.

But TV Thing #2 (chronologically) has now moved into its rightful position as #1. If you work for it, it's yours, right? The whole Big eyed starlet getting discovered at Scwabb's thing just doesn't really fit me anyway.

I look awful in a sheer metallic gown and my hair just refuses to tease.
