Chapter 2 of my new novel now on Red Room

May 1, 2008, 8:35 am

After the warm and supportive response to the first chapter of my new novel, Million Dollar Ideas (Red Room's "Best Preview" last month), I am now downright thrilled to be posting Chapter 2 on my Author Page. If you liked the first chapter, I think you'll enjoy what you learn in this one about Ed and Johnny, our two visionary screenwriters, and their peculiar place in Golden Age Hollywood. And if you haven't met the boys yet, Chapter 1 is still on my page, too. As before, my collaborator and I would love to hear what you think and any thoughts you have on getting this book noticed. Writing it has been more fun than anything we've ever done, and we're eager to get it out there. Thanks!

Good idea!

In fact, this was such a good idea that it inspired me to post chapters of my novel-in-progress on my member page, as well! Maybe you've started a trend!

Very pleased

to have started a Red Room trend, or at least to have inspired you. I'll go take a look at your first chapter now!

Chapter 2

I like the Garden of Edna, it makes me smile everytime it gets mentioned.  And I like the descriptions of the characters.  I think you've created a great group of characters and a vivid depiction of life on the fringes of "the biz".  Or at least as one might imagine in 1940s Hollywood.
I look forward to seeing what movie idea is next, and I loved the whole idea that no one could imagine why US troops would be in Vietnam, [kudos to whoever extrapolated it would have to do with the Commies] and blaming the lack of interest on Cambodia vs. Vietnam.
Waiting on ch. 3!   Maire
