Just a note in the How cool is that? and One more reason to love SF vein:
The San Francisco Arts Commission, now under the fine direction of the quite excellent Luis Cancel, Director of Cultural Affairs, late of NYC, has installed, as part of their Art on Market Street 2008 Program, a series of posters by artist Owen Smith depicting characters from Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon. Pulp fiction cover style as art! Look for them on the pedestrian side of kiosks on Market Street between Van Ness and the Embarcadero, from June 16th to September 18th.
