Saying Goodbye
Why should I say goodbye? I won't; I just won't...
If we have met, we will meet again, sometime, some place--even if after death...
For only death has separated me from those to whom I couldn't say goodbye. My Mom quietly went in her sleep, thankfully. A boss and friend who had been my mentor died and I learned about it from his wife. Those that I have loved who died, I wait to see again.
So why should I say goodbye?
My best friend and I are close, so close that even though we don't see each other often, it is as if it was just yesterday. We don't say goodbye. She'll tell me to email her that I got home. I'll thank her for lunch and say talk to you soon. But we never say goodbye.
Male friends? When parted, I might ask, "Still love me?" and hear a resounding "yes" in return. But never a goodbye...
Even book characters, when I really love a character, I immediately hope and wish for a sequel, or better yet, a series, starring that beloved character. Why not? The author has made her wonderful enough to be my friend...why should I say goodbye?
No, I won't, I just won't...
Later,
See ya,
Talk to you soon,
Call me,
or most importantly,
Love you...
