Belle Yang says:
That's great news, J
A woman next to me in the LAX lounge was reading a novel, which I thought was yours. The title was short, something like LOVING HIM. Am I wrong to assume that the titles of Romances are short? And if so, why?
Jessica Barksdale Inclan says:
Well, lost os titles are short
I keep think about Toni MOrrison: Sula, Beloved, Jazz, Love . . . etc. And god knows she's no romance writer. Then there's Atonement, Disgrace, Animal Dreams . . . short, too.
Most of my titles before romance are longer, so I am getting used to the shortness.
But Regency romances often have longer titles.
There doesn't seem to be a science or reason, though.

Thomas Dotson says:
I'm coming out of the closet...
...as a Paranormal Romance reader.
Currently, I'm absorbed in the Kim Harrison novels. I started Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, but fell out of love with it after awhile. Now of course, I have to start on Jessica's series as well as Kristy Kiernan's books.
That's the problem with Red Room, too many good authors to read! I could spend a lifetime here and still not read everyone I want to. Thank goodness for Huntington and Jennifer's encylopedic knowledge of the book world.

Thanks Jessica
I sent you an email.
Also, I'm going to attempt to sign up for your next Extension Class (Introduction to Fiction Writing), if I can still make it in.

The one running right now??
Rats. Okay, see what they say. We are a week in, but I would love to have you. You've missed week one, but we are really just starting. Tell Corey Campbell--the contact on this class--to call me, re your enrollment. I think you would really like the people already enrolled.
Best,
J
