After publishing Molokai Reef on Amazon for the Kindle I discovered Smashwords. Unlike Amazon, Smashwords converted my e-book into ten formats including the Kindle. Take note that Smashwords published e-books are DRM-free (Digital Rights Management) so piracy is a possibility. (Attention pirates: assuage your guilt by getting your friends to purchase the book.)

Smashwords has partnered with Barnes & Noble e-book stores. As expected, e-books have to be in a respectable format before B&N will include them in their online bookstore. Today, Molokai Reef landed in the B&N bookstore and, of course, it will download to the upcoming Nook, as well as, iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, etc.
