Mama Doesn't Do Enough With Her Blog Here

July 8, 2009, 10:55 am

so I'm just going to complain about it.

I'm not very good at missing people, but I want my boyfriend back.  I'm not very broken up about it.  I just think about him incessently, and am mildly annoyed at the fact that he really doesn't seem to be around anymore.

Big news of the day (in my opinion, at least) is the new head of MI6's wife putting personal information and photos on Facebook, with no privacy filters whatsoever.  Brilliant!  Thanks to the magic of the Internet and cached pages, anyone with a bit of Web-savvy can now access her Friends list, her contact information, and all sorts of other goodies.  I can't express how boggled my mind is that it was never suggested to her that she perhaps avoid maintaining any type of social-networking type of page.

I didn't personally see the pages, but from what I've read, I gotta tell ya: in the U.S. government, an OPSEC  (operational security) violation like that would technically be enough to get personnel removed from their positions.  We're not even supposed to upload photographs of military servicemembers with visible rank chevrons or name tape.  I only have non-classified security clearance, and even I'm not allowed to talk about half the things I see at work every day.

This has been a sub-par entry.  I feel braindead.
