Dedication Blessings for La Tisa's Habitat for Humanity Home
I headed down to the Dedication of La Tisa’s Habitat for Humanity home this past weekend. A lot of energies, sweat (and in my case a little blood) went into building this house; but ultimately it was the cooperative goodwill work and sharing by many. And more importantly, the sponsor who led the Dedication reminded us: "all those involved, including La Tisa and her three children were simply His tools to build this house."
And check out the sparkle in La Tisa's, daughter's eyes as she stands in her own bedroom. It's no wonder La Tisa named her Sparkle!!
I hope that La Tisa’s home serves as beacon for others as well a place for rest, shelter, dreams and laughter. Thank you, La Tisa, for letting me be a part of the building of your home. I enjoyed each and every moment of it!
La Tisa, you do not know this, but you asked me many times to write a bible verse on the walls as they were being made and installed. I couldn't think of any at the time, but what I did do---I went into four of the rooms and before the walls were drywalled -- painted, I gifted the raw woods with my childish art and wrote this for you below:
La Tisa, I give you;
Flowers, so your home will always know beauty.
Bread, so your home may never know hunger.
Salt, so it always has flavor.
And a candle, so your home will never know darkness.
Now there’s a ‘big bird’ that needs cleaning ; ) and the dust bunnies are running amok, I best get back to work.
Many blessings to each and everyone of you for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
