praying for a little dog
"It has been said that praying for others is not the least you can do for them, it is the most". Julie Vasquez, Prayer Power.
The collective voice of prayer or wishes of kindness are not defined by geography or time. They are not impeded by landscape or distance. We do not have to be together - we are never separate - for the impact of our hearts to be felt.
With this in mind, please say a prayer for my little dog Maddie, seen kissing me in my profile shot. She has been running a high fever for 10 days, despite being on three medications. I emailed our vet - another nun, in MD - and she said she needs to have more tests, as the fever rises then falls, but she remains very ill and with minimal appetite. When I took her to our local, 'hands on' vet last week I discovered she is heartworm positive, which was a shock; she must have had a false negative at time of rescue.
Anyway, I believe in the power of prayer and that collectively we can and do change the world, and that every thought of kindness resonates in every heart.
Many thanks for being a community that I know offers support and kindness, and a willingness to be present, despite (or because of?) our diversity.

I too am praying for your dog. I know from experience that God cares. I wrote about it in my book, God's Creatures: A Biblical View of Animals.

Dear Everyone
Thank you so much. It is inspiring to think that across the globe there is a message of love for this one little dog who was saved from death by euthanasia 18 months ago, and who is now so sick.
We spent 2 hours at the vet today - he is a great vet. The good news was her white blood cell count is now in the normal range, although high. The bad news was her liver levels were (literally) now off the chart - they had to do a special dilution to even get a reading. They were way out at 300, 10 days ago, today they were 800. Cause remains unknown, x-ray showed no tumour. Heart a little enlarged from HW, but that is something to deal with later. So for now we are back home with special food and more pills, and bloodwork off at the lab.
I truly believe your kind wishes helped us today. We are both very grateful. ( I must confess, she had to wear a muzzle. She does not understand the conventional way to express gratitude is with grace, not a growl!)
