just exactly who is marlena de la croix's "longtime friend and ardent ATWT fan, a television writer/producer who wishes to be known only as pjs?" Because I read his explanation (defense, justification?) of the loathsome, and wholly unbelievable, not to mention, boring, Carly-Holden "romance" on As the World Turns, just AFTER I saw snark's take on SOW's interview with CBS daytime VP, Barbara Bloom, I thought "pjs" might be channeling Bloom. Or, since it's an alias, it might be Bloom herself, despite Marlena's referencing "he." Of course, Marlena also said, "He, too, has an explanation for why the fans hate the romance, why the fans are wrong, and why he likes the pairing of Holden and Carly," so I couldn't help but be reminded of ABC's head of daytime, Brian Frons, and his infamous, "training the audience" comment.

Whoever you are, "pjs," if the Carly-Holden story were really, "one of the most realistic looks at adultery that daytime has ever presented, and as such, is more acutely disturbing than the quickly contrived come-and-go couplings that the soaps dabble in nowadays," it wouldn't require quite so much explanation. The fact that you think it does, and that you believe "the fans are wrong," only proves that the fans are, in fact, absolutely right.
