plently of carping to come, but first, a big thank you.

with all the press releases about returning actors, not to mention the spoilers and tweeting from the set as gl wrapped up its final weeks, i didn't think it would be possible for viewers to be surprised. but, surprise, surprise, we were. not just by josh and reva, but by mindy and rick's wedding as well.

so thanks to everyone associated with the show who knew, but kept their mouths shut .

a couple of other things before i hunker down for the weekend to work on the carping:

laughed out loud through my tears when alexandra told hilda and bruno to "refer all of the press calls to mr. locher at the spaulding enterprises pr department," a shout-out to alan locher, the gl publicist at telenext.

abc's jimmy kimmel noted gl's departure thursday night with a funny bit that poked gentle fun.

also on abc: some kind of exquisite timing over at one life to live. it simply could not have been a coincidence that today, of all days, as the lights dimmed on gl without showing even a kiss between olivia and natalia, nick not only kissed his "hot boyfriend" kyle, but started to unbutton his shirt before kyle stopped him short of the bed -- because kyle's in love with fish, who was, at that moment,  coming out to his parents -- this is a soap, of course. 

then again, maybe the timing just was a coincidence...
