Sarah With Slaughter
You've probably seen this today. If not, head's up! (Sorry, it's really not funny). For future reference, Sarah, don't give interviews in front of a slaughter house, at least while head-chopping is going on. http://www.youtube.com/v/z-kjM1asH-8&colorl=Oxlblbl&color2=Oxcfcfcf&fs=l
Poets: this is no metaphor! There's a war against turkeys, intensifying this week. And a war we don't see in Iraq, felling human beings.

Jennifer Gibbons says:
Marilyn, I saw this last night...
I nearly fell out of the bed, laughing and coughing at the same time.
I can't even fault Sarah on this one; what I have to think is the people around her are just clueless or dumb. All it took was someone to say "Hey, Sarah, babe, why don't we take the questions here...yeah, so the blood doesn't get on tbe Burbury scarf..."
It also reminded me of this scene in Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. A book comes out by Bernard Goldberg accusing her of "screwing up" America. Members start to read the essay concerning her aloud while she's killing a turkey. Screwing up America and killing turkeys-way to go, Barb!
Marilyn Kallet says:
There you go making me laugh again!
I like your perspective, the humor and precision in your observations. I'll go find the Kingsolver book which sounds too good! Thanks for the connective tissue--
I'm going to make a comment now on your blog as well (the poem in the museum!)
Rock on, keep the humor--Marilyn
