Grub Street
Long time no, folks.
Between the Bruins being in top form this season (slight digression, saw someone else's post about the Black and Gold and thought someone else on RedRoom was writing about the Big Bad Bruins... only to see they're talking about some football team or another... ) and my day job, the one that pays our bills ($28 or so in royalty checks every six months, while nice, is not going to pay the heating bills) , being a bit busy these days, I've been struggling to get anything on to RedRoom. Any spare writing time I've had has been spent frantically jotting stuff down in notebooks and walking around with my phone to my lips, trying not to look ridiculous while taking audio notes.
Trying to not look ridiculous probably makes me look even more ridiculous, whether it be looking like an out-placed television license investigator recording electrical interference levels into my recorder while I drive around (I swear, I only take notes once I've parked the car at the side of the road), or it's looking like a penguin who's discovered the joys of talking into the phone, but hasn't quite mastered the part where you're supposed to put one piece next to your ear. Also the penguin's developed fingers, because I can't imagine a penguin holding a mobile phone for a very long stretch of time. At any rate, the point is, I've been walking and driving and sitting around, looking ridiculous, and not posting on RedRoom.
But today, today, dear friends, that all ends! Because I've posted something!
And there was a point to posting something... there was...
Oh yes. I'll be at the Grub Street lunchtime writing session today (for those of you in the future, that's January 27th, 2009 - also: did the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in '09?). So, Boston-area writers, I'll see you down there.

There is a point to your post!
The beautiful picture of the ice! We don't have that here in Northern California. It looks like something from The Snow Queen.
