Maureen Adams is a licensed clinical psychologist and an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco where she teaches graduate classes in counseling psychology. Before moving to California, she taught English at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
On May 15, 1886, Emily Dickinson died after a two-year illness probably caused by hypertension. She died in her own bed with her brother Austin sitting beside her.
