Key Republicans from Alaska seem to have ‘hit’ on a formula for “success”…lying, denial and deception…Oh wait!  We saw this with Nixon, Bush and Cheney!

Gov. Sarah Palin took about 5 minutes and 30 seconds Saturday afternoon to talk by phone with Alaska reporters and give her view of the Troopergate investigation.

Meg Stapleton: Sure governor, go ahead.

Palin: OK cool.

Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that.

Ethics investigation finds Palin abused power

Legislative committee releases investigation into firing of public official

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report to a bipartisan panel that looked into the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

Below is the finding from the Branchflower report that directly contradicts statements from Sarah Palin that she has been found exonerated of abuse of power allegations.

 

 Finding Number One

 

            For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violation Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.100(a) provides

            “The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.”

 Clearly, something must be in the water that Gov. Sarah Palin has been drinking!

At least three times yesterday, U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens said he has not been convicted of anything. So what did the jury do on Monday when it found him guilty of seven federal felony counts? Democrats say he’s being dishonest with voters. We’re talking with law professors and others to sort it out.

It’s been said that:  A lie can be halfway around the world before the truth gets its boots on.  But this was in the days before instant communication was possible.   We as Americans are empowered to find the truth and read the reports for ourselves…these are not loose innuendoes and rumors, rather they are hard facts.  Gov. Palin abused her power and Senator Stevens was found guilty.
