All I am saying...

is that left-handers understand...As a left-hander myself, I appreciate some of the quotes of more famous left-handers. These are some of my favorites and I feel they are expressions of how peace may be contemplated or construed. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. ...

Current reads...

I haven't been reading as much lately. Well, that's not exactly true, but I haven't been reading too many books. I have been doing some proofing for some manuscripts. It is a whole different type of reading as everyone here knows. What becomes difficult, when proofing, is when the story becomes so intriguing that I become engrossed in the story. Despite the proofing, I have just ...

I'm so excited...countdown to The Pointer Sisters, part 2

Last night, The Pointer Sisters concert was just phenomenal! Lots of energy to go with the songs. From a medley of "Yes You Can Can" and "Betcha Got a Chick on the Side" from their early days to more recent songs like "Fire", "Neutron Dance" and "Totally Automatic"(to name but a few), the ladies belted out hit after hit to benefit the ...

I'm so excited...countdown to The Pointer Sisters

Tomorrow night, I'm going to see The Pointer Sisters in concert. I'm not a big concert person, at least not like my friend Suzanne who porbably goes to twenty or thirty Bruce Springsteen concerts every year. Okay, maybe not quite that many, but a lot. Suffice it to say, she's always been into the "Boss" as long as I've known her (nearly thirty years), but I digress. However, I have ...

Favorite bookstore???

A favorite bookstore? I don't know that I have a favorite bookstore. One favorite book, yes! In fact, I blogged about that about a month or so ago, but not a particular, favorite bookstore. I have found all sorts of bookstore to be treasures, and I love browsing them all. I suppose I could say that my favorite will be the one I hope to own someday. I hope it will be like the bookstore ...

Numbers...

While I am not much of a math person, I am fascinated with numbers. In this regard, I have watched my statistics here add up throughout the months. It seemed like it took forever before I broke 1000. 2000 was a bit quicker, and with each benchmark, it seemed like it happened almost logimetrically until just recently...as I have been nearing 6000. I expect it will happen sometime tomorrow, but ...

bookcrossing,..RABCK and beyond, the readathon continues..

Quick blog...I "wild released" a book, Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott Card today and have had several released books (through the RABCK) show up on the site in the past few days. The latest just showed up a few minutes ago and was number 2 on the list of "recently caught" as of ten minutes ago.More importantly, the recipient journaled the book, McGowan's Call by Rob Smith, ...

Bookcrossing readathon, and a new book...

Well, the bookcrossing readathon is on! Despite working for the last three days, I have managed to put in about six hours of the twenty-four desired. Whether or not I manage the twenty-four hours is immaterial; it's the thrill of the chase, in a sense. In this quest I have finished Ender's Shadow. I have also read some manuscripts or portions there of. I have lots of reading choices right ...

Bookcrossing readathon

As a member of bookcrossing.com I have agreed to read for twenty-four hours over the next week. Once a month, they have a readathon and tonight at midnight starts the twenty-four hours. While I read quite a bit (so far, this year I have read over fifty books), reading for twenty-four hours seems a bit daunting right now because I am just about to head into the heaviest part of my work ...

bookcrossing,..RABCK and beyond

I have been a bookcrosser for about ten months or so, but have only recently gotten into the forums there. I started a RABCK for my birthday month and am giving away up to ten books. You'd think other bookcrossers would jump on it. Nah, I have not had too many takers! Can readers be over-booked? I didn't think it was possible to have too many books. I always have something on my TBR ...
